Finally, a workwear brand that actually, really gets it.
I’ve heard about MM.LaFleur for years, and finally had the chance to try out their Bento Box recently. Man oh MAN are they a breath of fresh air. Especially if you’re an attorney, finance professional, consultant, or simply a person in search of building a classic, sophisticated work wardrobe, I have officially found your go-to.
With stunning silhouettes, quality fabrics, and impeccable craftsmanship, MM.LaFleur has come up with—hands down—the most inspired collection of workwear pieces I’ve encountered to date. No question. Finally, a brand that does not see form and function as mutually exclusive. A brand that knows style and substance can go hand-in-hand, and understands the sartorial challenges that professional women face in real life. MM.LaFleur has managed to offer working women a true solution instead of another impractical fashion-industry take on how to “like totally look like a girl boss!” Cue the collective eye roll.
In addition to their vast collection of beautiful workwear pieces (which, oh BTW, are travel-friendly and mostly machine-washable), MM.LaFleur offers amazing (free!) styling services. By answering a few simple questions, an MM.LaFleur stylist will send you a Bento Box with four to six clothing items and accessories to try on at home. They thoughtfully identify which pieces will work best for your body type and be appropriate for your specific corporate environment. It is not a subscriptions service, so you’re not locked into anything, you’re simply charged for what you keep and send the rest back. A total godsend for the busy working woman who needs classic, high-quality workwear, without the stress of shopping. I had the opportunity to try out this service and can truly attest that their motto of “taking the work out of dressing for work” rings true.
For those of you operating in business formal environments which require you to dress conservatively, I know how difficult it can be to look at clothing billed as “work appropriate” just to find that the dress is actually not much longer than mini-skirt length, or the blouse has a deep v that travels several inches south of what’s realistically work appropriate. I had the opportunity to try on multiple dresses, tops, skirts and jackets from MM.LaFleur, and without sacrificing an ounce of style, their silhouettes were truly differentiated. Even tops with v-necks or skirts with slits are both tasteful and stylish, making me feel comfortable all day no matter what kind of bending/leaning/dabbing might take place.
