NEW SERIES: MONDAY MEMO NO. 1

Despite an unbelievably hectic end to 2017 and a very busy start to 2018 (which includes lots of exciting things happening on the Trove front, but more on that below!), I am incredibly excited about what’s in store for Memorandum this year.  Lots of new content, big changes, and exciting projects on the docket for this little corner of the internet, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.  We’re talking a major site re-design, expansion of content (including an upcoming DEEP-DIVE into all things skincare), and much, much more—with a continuation of all things fashion-related too, of course!

Just kidding guys, Memorandum as you know it is over.  From henceforth, this blog will be dedicated to the magnificent and widely varying hair styles of Celine Dion between 1990 and 2004.

KIDDING.  (About the blog change.  Not about how magnificent her hair transformations were.)

Today, I’m thrilled to kick off a brand new series—the Monday Memo—which is something I’ve been wanting to do for YEARS.  Each Monday, the Monday Memo will include a fun (read: random, but in a good way) assortment of updates, info, discoveries, articles, recipes and even FAQs to kick start the week.  I’ll be sharing everything from favorite books I’ve read to great beauty products I’ve discovered, to killer fashion finds and even restaurants I’m excited to try.

In the past, I’ve shared some of these things on my instastories, but since those posts only last for 24 hours, I typically get inundated with DMs and emails asking for me to remind what broadway show I loved recently or what pair of shoes I just received in the mail.  I’m hoping that putting everything down in a consolidated weekly update will not only serve as an easier reference, but also facilitate a better dialogue with all of you and just be a fun way to start each week.

So without further ado, grab your Monday cuppa joe and let’s jump right in…

TROVE NEWS!

As you may have seen on instagram recently, my husband Rich and I were lucky enough to be awarded Fashion Group International’s Business Innovation award for our company, Trove.  If you haven’t downloaded Trove yet, click here.  Lots more exciting news (plus an android version) coming very soon, so stay tuned!

GORGEOUS LBD

I spotted this gorgeous, super affordable off-the-shoulder LBD on my friend Jacey’s blog, and needless to say, my fingers couldn’t hit the buy button fast enough.  It’s nearly sold out on Amazon, but there are still lots of sizes on Nordstrom and Revolve.  Drooling over that lace back detail!

DELICIOUS, EASY RECIPES

We recently had friends over for dinner and since I didn’t have a lot of lead-time, I made this stupidly-simple chicken recipe (aptly named “World’s Best Chicken”) with this super easy brussels sprouts and butternut squash combo on the side.  Both were huge hits and went immediately into my “favorite recipes ever” folder.  Highly recommend.

I, TONYA

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW.  An absolutely hilarious, heartbreaking, thought-provoking side to the infamous story you thought you knew.

SKINCARE OBSESSION

As mentioned, I’ll be doing loads of skincare posts in the near future breaking down every process and product that you need to know about.  (Sidenote: I’ve been doing so much intense research on skincare over the past couple months, my mom said it looked like I was studying for finals over Christmas.  She wasn’t too far off.)  I will be doing a huge, comprehensive post on this product in the coming weeks, but thought I’d share a little sneak peek of the number one, hands-down, most mind-blowingly game-changing product I’ve ever tried: Biologique Recherche P50.  I’ve heard about it for years from my friend Helena’s blog and skincare guru Caroline Hirons, but only recently did my research and finally ordered a bottle from Rescue Spa.  More details on this product coming soon, but I’m telling you, there is not enough hype in the world to do it justice.

ON BROADWAY

As many of you know, Rich and I go to Broadway shows every chance we get and just bought tickets to see The Band’s Visit next month.  The cast is amazing (including the super talented Tony Shalhoub, Katrina Lenk and John Cariani) and reviews thus far have been stellar.  Let me know if any of you have seen it already!

NEW FAVORITE SCENT

If you’re looking for an amazing new scent and/or a gorgeous gift, check out Jo Malone’s Basil & Neroli candle.  It’s long been one of their most popular scents, and I’ve been burning it day and night at home.  I even ordered a second one to have at the office because I’m so hooked!  They’re available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Neiman Marcus but I’ve also become completely obsessed with reading the story behind each scent on Jo Malone’s website.  So cool.

FAQ:  WEDDING CHINA

A follower recently asked me if I registered for wedding china when Rich and I got married and if so, what pattern I chose.  The answer is yes!  Fun fact, I’m OBSESSED with china—have been since I was a little girl.  There are many patterns I love (I have many Royal Copenhagen pieces—both the Blue Fluted Plain and the Blue Fluted Mega), but my actual wedding china was a mix of Anna Weatherley pieces as follows:

CHARGERS: Simply Anna Polka

DINNER PLATES: Simply Anna

SALAD PLATES: Old Master Tulips (there are 12 unique tulip designs)

BREAD PLATES: Simply Anna Polka

TEA CUPS: Simply Anna

SAUCERS: Simply Anna Polka

As always, please share your thoughts in the comments below and let me know if you have any burning questions for next week’s Monday Memo!
