Happy March! With the official welcome of Spring this month, I’m super pumped to kick off my 30 Dresses in 30 Days series where every day for the month of March, I’ll be posting a favorite Spring or Summer dress exclusively on instagram. Each post will have a specific theme in mind—the perfect dress for St. Patrick’s Day, my favorite Easter dress, the best dress for a Summer client meeting, the perfect warm weather Sunday brunch dress, and so on!
As you may recall, I asked you to fill out a survey a couple months ago which included questions about what content you’d like to see more of on Memorandum. One question in particular asked which clothing items you care about the most, and by far your top answer was dresses! With warmer temps around the corner and a bevy of Spring and Summer festivities in tow, I thought March would be the perfect time to amp up the dress content and share dresses that correspond to every occasion we all face during these warmer months.
More than just sharing my favorite dresses for Spring and Summer, I’m hoping this series can serve as a resource to help navigate all of the warm weather occasions that often sneak up on us. If you’re anything like me (queen of procrastination) work and life often get in the way of planning ahead for all of the holidays, weddings, barbecues, and other events that occur during the sunny months. Before you know it, you’ve got a company picnic or a black-tie wedding in two days, and you’re lying on your bedroom floor contemplating the strain of bubonic plague you should tell your friends/family/coworkers you’ve contracted to avoid attending because you “have nothing to wear.”
But even worse than feeling like you don’t have the right dress to wear, is feeling like you actually don’t even know what the appropriate dress is for the occasion. Holy panic button. This terror is no joke. Exhibit A: What the heck do you wear to a baby shower?!
I’m starting the series off today with the perfect baby shower dress, because Rich’s sister is having a baby boy this Spring, which will be the first baby on either side of our families. In addition to not having welcomed any nieces or nephews before (or at least none that I know of… KIDDING, MOM), none of my best friends have had babies yet either. So, until now, proper baby shower attire was totally foreign to me.
Whether you’re attending your first baby shower, your first black-tie wedding, or your first dressy garden party, I got you, boo. With this series, my hope is that “how to fake your own kidnapping” will no longer be your google search term of choice when faced with the question of what to wear to an impending barbecue at your boss’s house.
To begin this series and give you all of the juicy deets, I’m sharing day one’s baby shower dress here on the blog today. From here on out, I’ll be sharing the dresses exclusively on instagram (@maryorton), with links to both the dress I’m wearing and additional dresses that I think are perfect for the occasion all linked via LikeToKnow.it. I’ll also be sharing additional exclusive content with my email subscribers, so if you haven’t signed up yet, definitely get in on it here!
I know what you’re thinking. Hey, Genius, there are 31 days in March.
[insert embarrassed/eye-roll emoji here]
Roger that, compadres. On March 31st, I’ll be publishing a big, extra special finale to the series right here on Memorandum, so stay tuned! In the meantime, I have lots of other outfits and posts that I’ll be sharing here on the blog this month, and will be giving occasional updates on the #30DressesIn30Days series here as well. For now, get ready for dress número dos coming up first thing tomorrow morning on instagram. Can’t wait to share all of these beauties with you guys!
