Happy Sunday! I posted this picture on instagram a few months ago of these beautiful beaded necklaces that Rich and I spotted while on our honeymoon in South Africa. I immediately envisioned framing them and displaying them in our home as a reminder of our trip, so was eager to find a good framing shop when we returned last fall. Since I’ve received tons of emails asking about the framing process and whether I had any tips, I thought I’d share a quick post about it, and show you how the framing turned out!
After searching far and wide—both on and offline—I came to the realization that you basically have to mortgage your house or sell a kidney to frame things these days. It’s absurd. I finally stumbled upon Framebridge, an online framing service that makes the process easy, fun (for real), and soooo much less expensive than other alternatives—without taking a hit on quality! All you have to do is go to their website, pick out your frame and matting, and then either send in your art (like we did) or upload photos directly on their site. Since we were sending in the necklaces, they sent a prepaid package that keeps everything ultra secure. Our finished frames were then returned back to us in a matter of days, ready to hang! Literally, they even send you the perfect hanging hardware so all you need is a hammer.
Personal wall art is always my favorite part of redecorating a space. There are so many beautiful things in the world, but the pictures and objects with a story are what make a house a home (pardon the cliché). And when framing these special pieces, you want to make sure it’s done really well, both in terms of quality matting and framing, but also in terms of the care the framers take with your art. I was concerned about the necklaces either (a) getting damaged and/or (b) being mounted poorly, but was honestly blown away by the quality of every last detail.
With these necklaces, I wanted a really simple black frame with no matting so that the necklaces could do all the talking, but take a quick gander through their siiiiick line up of frames. I’m planning out some more framing projects, and have my eye on this awesome gold one and this cool mirrored one. Sooo good!!
I also included Framebridge in my holiday guide a few months ago because framing special photos or artwork makes for an amazing gift. For my dad’s birthday last year, my brothers and I had a ton of really old family photos framed for his office. So, with Mother’s Day this spring, it’s a great gift to remember! I mean, what Mom wouldn’t melt over this stuff?
I’ve gotten loads of requests from many of you to share some more home decor posts, which I’m excited to do in the weeks and months to come. Right now I’m re-decorating my office, and am eager to share that when it’s finally done. As you can imagine, I’m already planning out a lot more Framebridge frames for that space and other places in our home so stay tuned for more!
