Nothing beats classic navy and white stripes, especially as we inch closer towards Spring and Summer months. I’m a huge fan of this dress, and due to the overlapping layer of material in the front, it honestly feels like there is some sort of built in layer of spanx that keeps everything really smooth in front. Especially with the sometimes-dangerous horizontal stripes we need every bit of help we can get, amiright?
I want to point out that this dress has slits on either side of the skirt, which will be fine on anyone ~5’8″ and under, but if you’re my height (5’10”) they may be a little high in an office setting—especially when you sit down. However, there’s a super easy fix for this: Take the dress to a tailor and have them tack the slits (this costs like $15). They can tack them either all the way down or just a few extra inches so you have more coverage. The dress is constructed in a way that would allow for the slits to be tacked without compromising the style or your comfort in walking, sitting, lunging, twerking, etc.
Happy Thursday!
P.S. One other note—if you check out the dress here, you may notice that the neck of the dress is a bit higher than how I’ve styled it in the photos today. I thought the mock neck length looked better than the higher turtleneck length, so I just chose to fold it over once. I know. Creativity running WILD.
